   @silasha G’day , no, anyone of the 11 players on the field can bowl if they have the skill. some players are predominantly batsman , but bowl occasionally , a few can do both bat & bowl pretty well , and a few can’t hold a bat hardly at all.

   Cricket noob question: Can fielders be bowlers too? (Like in football, the defender can act as a center-forward if they are desperate for a goal.) Or are they limited to one position only?

    oh ya.., it is much ‘simpler’ than dumb fools running behind the leading fool who holds a ball and runs down the field for a touchdown!! No skill, no thought, no innovation, just muscle!! Game made for America anyway

    I only watched this to culturally understand exactly what cricket is. Personally this game seems kinda overly simple and dumb…but I feel the same about American baseball (I live in America) so I guess that doesn’t matter much.

    We have an Americanized version of this type of game that embodies our values. It’s called baseball.
